Barbicide Edit

Here at Eddie’s we have many clients entering our shop daily. Ever wonder if the tools our barbers are using still have a trace of the client who preceded you? Thanks to Barbicide we have been able to disinfect our tools with the finest solution on the market.

Barbicide contains chemicals that kill many viruses and bacteria. The company that manufactures it today, Blue CoBrands, is also a manufacturer of disinfectants used by hospitals throughout the country.

Maurice King, a chemistry teacher, invented Barbicide in 1947 in his Brooklyn apartment. His bathtub was filled with this translucent blue liquid as he mixed in one chemical after the other. However, did he anticipate that this would revolutionize the sanitation of barbers in the US and Europe? Was it his intention to help them or did he have a secret agenda? According to his son, Maurice King hated barbers. In fact, Barbicide really meant, “to kill the barber.” His goal was to create a solution that would set the bar for cleanliness and to this day that bar has yet to be topped. Barbicide is like every customer that comes into our shop–high class and powerful!

This solution is so influential that it’s featured in the Smithsonian at the National Museum of American History! That’s why we use it before we service every client! So, come in and let us provide you with the cleanest haircut and shave in town at Eddie’s Haircut and Shave!
