Eddie’s Haircut and Shave is located in the Upper East Side. It is one of the few traditional barbershops in New York City. Originally located on East 68th Street, this neighborhood’s favorite barbershop has been around before the surge of trendy new age salons in the area. Keeping traditional barbering alive by excelling in haircuts and rare barbering skills such as the hot towel shave, Eddie’s Haircut and Shave brings service with a smile and also professionalism. We provide today’s man with the experience of a barbershop from the past, a place where you can unwind and feel at home. Our staff is composed of highly trained barbers personally picked by David, the shop owner and master barber, ensuring that every service is executed with precision and detail.
"Although I have since moved from the Upper East Side I still travel to see them."

Haircut & SHAMPOO
Enjoy a relaxing haircut from an experienced master barber. It’s done with scissors or clippers (or both) and includes a hot lather shave along the sideburns and neckline, and ends with the application of a hot towel. Washing of the hair may be done before or after the haircut – the choice is yours.
Shampoo and/or condition your hair with our exclusive Eddie’s Haircut and Shave products, followed by a blow-dry finish to fully style your hair.
Getting an outline is perfect in between haircuts: this includes trimming of the sideburns, cleaning up the edges of your hairline behind the ears and neck with clippers, and hot lather shave on the neck followed by a hot towel.
Whether you have a full beard, a goatee or a Van dyke, we will trim them with scissors or clippers to create the desired length and shape of your beard.
FULL HEAD SHAVE
Your barber will use a straight razor to assure the closest possible shave, followed by the application of a number of hot towels.
HOT TOWEL SHAVE
Come in unshaven, lay back in our barber chair, and indulge in the lost art of the old-fashioned straight-razor shave, which of course incorporates the application of several steamed towels.
For those looking to combine a great shave with a little pampering, this (roughly 30 minute) shave is done only with a straight razor, includes the application of steamed towels, and concludes with a soothing massage to the face, head, and shoulders.
A relaxing ten-minute treatment that relieves tension from the shoulders, neck, and head.
Done with a Mud Pack Masque & Cucumber and/or Almond Massage Cream, followed by the application of several steamed towels and concluding with a soothing facial massage (excludes extractions).

What the Barbers have to say.
Owner / Master Barber
Hello, I'm David, the Master Barber and proud owner of Eddie's Haircut and Shave.
My journey with barbershops began in my teenage years, drawn to the ambiance and conversations. By 17, I was considered quite skilled, and at 20, I owned my first barbershop. With 18 years of experience as a Master Barber, I'm dedicated to creating a relaxing and confident experience for my clients, ensuring they leave feeling like a new person.
Specializing in scissor cuts, hot towel straight razor shaves, and fades tailored to your liking, I take pride in my work. My goal is not just a great haircut but also to impart knowledge about how your hair works for you. I'm constantly learning and evolving with new techniques and hairstyles. While barbering is a craft that can never be fully mastered, at Eddie's, we strive for damn near perfection!
Feel free to stop by anytime, where you're treated like family.
If you have ever eavesdropped on the conversations around you at Eddie’s, you may have noticed that everyone in the shop is able to chat with the person sitting in their chair in more than just a single language — we are the UN of barber shops!
However, I am the only one who can be conversant in several languages. I speak Ukrainian from having grown up in Ukraine, which naturally helped me easily pick up Russian when I lived some years later in Brooklyn. I have also studied French and Korean (long story), which can come in very handy in the city when you are eating in a Korean or a French restaurant. If you count English, that’s a total of five.
And in all of them, I am able to say...
“How would you like your haircut?”
“Thank You for Calling Eddie’s Haircut & Shave!”
Meet Helen, whose journey into the world of barbering took an unexpected turn. Unlike many barbers who dreamt of cutting hair since childhood, being a barber was the furthest thing from Helen's mind. With a family deeply rooted in the barbering and hairstyling profession, she initially sought something entirely different.
Life, however, had other plans. Against her initial expectations, Helen found herself following in the family tradition, becoming a skilled barber with over 38 years of experience. Today, she embraces her role with passion, proving that sometimes, the most fulfilling paths are the ones we least expect. Helen wouldn't trade her journey for anything, as she continues to thrive in the world she once never imagined.
Meet Jacob, a unique blend of talents bridging the worlds of barbering and photography. While the difference between a barber and a photographer is vast for many, Jacob's journey defies the norm. Not too long ago, he was a highly accomplished photographer facing the challenges of securing steady work in the competitive city landscape.
Recognizing the need for a career shift, Jacob harnessed his photographer's "eye" and redirected his skills toward becoming a barber. Initially hesitant about enrolling in Barber School, fearing it marked the end of his photography pursuits, he took the leap. A decade later, Jacob has no regrets. He's not only a skilled barber but continues to capture stunning images, proving that sometimes, unexpected career changes lead to fulfilling dual passions.
Meet Mila, the dynamic force alongside David in the world of barbering for over a decade. Her love for cutting hair is intertwined with the honor of engaging in conversations with clients, gaining insights and learning from their varied experiences.
Mila takes on the role of a therapist, creating a space where clients not only leave with a fresh haircut but also with a sense of connection. The barber's chair transforms into a haven for dialogue, where stories unfold, and Mila absorbs new lessons with each line of conversation. Step into Mila's realm, where every haircut is an opportunity for shared experiences and personal connections.
Meet Roman, a seasoned barber with over 20 years of experience sculpting hair into masterpieces. His passion for cutting hair is fueled by the joy he brings to countless faces. Beyond the barber's chair, Roman is an avid sports enthusiast, engaging in spirited conversations about soccer, basketball, and football.
His expertise shines in the art of barbering, specializing in a range of techniques from flawless skin fades to intricate beard trims. Step into Roman's domain, not just for a haircut, but for an experience where the clippers tell a story and the conversations flow as smoothly as the fades he creates. Come visit Roman, and let the scissors and banter work their magic.
